Bloomsburg University Foundation Launches AI-Powered Engagement Pilot to Deepen Donor Connections

The Bloomsburg University Foundation has launched an innovative new initiative to engage alumni and supporters in a more personalized and dynamic way through a new AI-powered virtual engagement officer named Elizabeth.

Developed in partnership with Version2.ai and Givzey, Elizabeth is designed to serve as a digital philanthropic concierge—offering tailored updates, information, and giving opportunities aligned with individual interests and values. Whether it’s exploring events like the ZIPD Conference, staying up-to-date on athletic schedules, connecting with volunteer opportunities, or learning about campaign priorities, Elizabeth is here to help alumni and friends stay meaningfully connected to Commonwealth University–Bloomsburg.

“With The Campaign for Bloomsburg: It Starts With Us now in its public phase, we’re committed to using bold, forward-thinking tools to strengthen relationships and inspire deeper philanthropy,” said Jerome Dvorak, Executive Director of the Bloomsburg University Foundation. “Elizabeth represents an exciting leap forward in how we engage our community—by making interactions more responsive, helpful, and personal.”

A select group of alumni and donors have been invited to participate in the pilot phase of this initiative, helping shape how this technology evolves to best serve the Bloomsburg community. Their feedback will be instrumental in refining the experience and ensuring it reflects the values and priorities of those who care deeply about the University’s future.

“Elizabeth is more than a chatbot—she’s here to support our community in ways that are accessible and meaningful,” added Dvorak. “This is about building stronger, lasting connections that empower people to get involved in the ways that matter most to them.”

This new initiative aligns with the broader goals of The Campaign for Bloomsburg: It Starts With Us—the largest fundraising campaign in the University’s history—focused on attracting, preparing, and elevating students for success. The pilot program reflects the campaign’s mission to innovate and invest boldly in the future of Bloomsburg students.
