Huskies Go All In to Make Second Annual Giving Challenge a Success

More than 650 Bloomsburg University Foundation (BUF) supporters went All-In to raise $216,977 for Bloomsburg students during the second annual Huskies All In Giving Challenge held from 8 a.m. Thursday, April 13 to 3:07 p.m. Friday, April 14. The money raised during the event will support scholarships and programs for students across Bloomsburg's campus.

Since the fundraising event’s launch in 2022, The Huskies All In Giving Challenge has resulted in more than $300,000 in direct student support that helps Bloomsburg students and student-athletes excel in the classroom and in their respective sports.

"Every dollar helps make a difference for our students and we can’t thank our donors enough," said Jerome Dvorak, BUF executive director. "Equally as important, this event is designed to raise support for our students by increasing awareness among all alumni and donors about the impact their collective support can provide. We are very encouraged to see more than 600 donors to our giving challenge in each of the first two years."

Throughout this year's All-In Giving Challenge, various matching gifts and challenges totaling more than $140,000 were announced with donors having opportunities to increase the impact of their gifts. Challenges included a $25,000 gift from Joel Showalter ’96 to incentivize increased participation, a $35,000 gift from Dr. Matt Thran ’84 to encourage donors to support Bloomsburg’s new Nursing Simulation Center, and $27,000 from Terry Zeigler for student scholarships.

"Thank you to everyone who showed their support during the Huskies All In Giving Challenge. Our students are our future. Each gift we received, no matter the size, is an investment in their continued success," said Bashar W. Hanna, Commonwealth University president.

The BU Foundation social media accounts provided periodic status updates throughout the event along with live tracking of each gift in real time on giving.bloomu.edu/HuskeisAllIn. Gifts to support Bloomsburg students can still be made by visiting giving.bloomu.edu/make-a-gift.
