Making Personal Connections - One Call at a Time

We can't wait to talk to you!
Why do we call?

Student Development Officers help alumni, parents and friends of Bloomsburg University stay connected to BU. They verify your contact information to make sure you can receive important information and invitations to special events like homecoming and reunions.

We also make sure we have your current business information.
This helps BU know which companies to look to for professional development opportunities for current Huskies, like job shadowing and internships.

They love to hear about your time at Bloomsburg and give you updates on things that are happening on campus today. Student callers also solicit donations to support BU, usually for the Bloom On Fund for Student Opportunity (formerly the Henry Carver Fund).

Who is actually calling me?

All Student Development Officers are current Bloomsburg University undergraduate students. The calling program employs students from all four colleges and various majors.

Why is the phonathon important?

The BU Phonathon’s primary goals are to keep alumni connected to BU and raise support for the university’s greatest needs through the Bloom On Fund. The program also employees around 25 students callers and five student managers each semester. These Student Development Officers gain valuable, and very marketable, skills every time someone answers the phone and the funds they raise have a real impact on today’s Huskies by providing scholarship, research and program funds.
