Major: Finance, Political Economics
Hometown: Bloomsburg, PA
Brittney, who completed her MBA in 2021, knows and cherishes the value of her BU education. Ever since she was a young girl, the Bloomsburg native knew she wanted to go to BU to get her degree, but when she graduated high school in 2008, she didn’t have the resources or the support she needed to make that happen.
But Brittney didn’t give up on her dream. Instead, she took a job working in housekeeping at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, PA. She worked nights while she saved up to attend BU and complete her undergraduate degree with a dual major in Finance and Political Science.
She recognized the value of all the opportunities available to her outside the classroom. She didn’t want to miss the chance to take full advantage of every aspect of her BU education.
I had great relationships with my professors and access to so many experiences on campus that could put me in position to succeed,” Brittney says. “I especially appreciated the Zeigler Institute for Professional Development Conference. I Benefited so much from that each year, and I would encourage all students who can to attend.”
After completing her undergraduate studies, Brittney went on to pursue her MBA as she also worked her way up at Geisinger to become a Revenue Management Senior Service Line Specialist.
Now, she’s giving back to show other first-generation students like herself that she is here to support the same experiences for them.
“I feel like BU had so many opportunities for me,” Brittney adds. “If I can give back, then they can continue doing that for others.”
