Bloomsburg Alum Recognizes the importance of making connections through giving and volunteering to help strengthen Alumni Network.

Four years ago, after a successful 30-year career, Ed Piatkowski '86 retired and embarked on a new chapter of his life. Little did he know that this new phase would bring him back to the very place that laid the foundation for his success.

In the early days of his retirement, his wife challenged him to search for a guiding principle, a word that would define his new journey. That word was "connection." He realized that reconnecting with the people and places that shaped him was essential. This realization led him back to Bloomsburg University, where he decided to make a difference in the lives of current students.

Through his generous endowment of a scholarship, he has provided invaluable opportunities for deserving students. But his contributions go beyond financial support. Passionate about mentorship, he spends time with students, sharing his experiences and offering guidance. From discussing career aspirations to engaging with classes, his presence has been profoundly impactful.

His commitment to Bloomsburg students extends beyond donations. He values the importance of a strong alumni network and believes it can bridge the gap between good education and exceptional opportunities. His efforts are a testament to the belief that alumni involvement can significantly enhance the educational experience and future success of our students.
