My collegiate career got off to a bumpy start with the stress of the COVID-19 pandemic, which directly affected our family financially, and adjusting to life as student-athlete away from home for the first time.

"Without the gifts I received from donors, I don’t know if I would still be here, let alone having a successful year," says Gabi. "The scholarships I received served as a reminder that someone out there believed in me enough to support my dreams."

Thanks to that support along with the support she received from her teammates and coaches, this past year, Gabi made the dean’s list, was named a BU Scholar-Athlete, and secured 50 points for her team at the PSAC Swimming Championships, along with notching nine lifetime best performances.
